Concurrent stream limits apply across all tests running simultaneously within your organization. If your plan allows 10 concurrent audio streams, that is the total across all active tests -- not per test.

Billing Intervals

All paid plans are available with two billing options:

  • Monthly billing -- Pay month-to-month with no long-term commitment. Cancel anytime.
  • Annual billing -- Pay upfront for the year and save approximately 16% compared to monthly billing.

Annual pricing for each plan:

PlanMonthlyAnnualMonthly equivalentYou save
Starter$99/mo$998/yr~$83/mo~$190/yr
Pro$249/mo$2,510/yr~$209/mo~$478/yr
Business$699/mo$7,044/yr~$587/mo~$1,344/yr

You can switch between monthly and annual billing at any time from your billing settings. Switching from monthly to annual takes effect immediately. Switching from annual to monthly takes effect at the end of your current annual period.

7-Day Trial

Every paid plan includes a 7-day trial period. During the trial you get full access to all features included in the plan you select. This gives you time to:

  • Configure your SIP infrastructure and registrars
  • Run test calls and evaluate quality metrics
  • Set up probes for continuous monitoring (if available on the chosen plan)
  • Explore the analytics dashboard
  • Evaluate whether the plan fits your needs

What Happens When the Trial Ends

  • If you keep your subscription active, billing begins automatically at the end of the trial.
  • If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.
  • You can start a new trial on a different plan tier if you want to evaluate another option.

How to Choose the Right Plan

Selecting the right plan depends on your testing volume, team size, and monitoring needs.

Choose Starter if:

  • You are an individual engineer or small team
  • You run periodic SIP quality tests (up to ~2,000 audio minutes/month)
  • You need audio and video codec coverage
  • You want API access for basic automation
  • You need a small number of scheduled probes (up to 3)

Choose Pro if:

  • You need continuous monitoring with up to 10 scheduled probes
  • You want public status pages for stakeholders
  • You run regular load tests with higher concurrency (up to 50 audio streams)
  • You require webhook integrations for alerting
  • Your team runs up to ~10,000 audio minutes per month

Choose Business if:

  • You manage large-scale VoIP infrastructure
  • You need on-premise workers for testing behind firewalls or in private networks
  • You have multiple teams requiring higher limits (up to 200 concurrent audio streams)
  • You need dedicated support with faster response times
  • You run up to ~50,000 audio minutes per month
  • You need up to 50 scheduled probes and 365 days of data retention

Choose Enterprise if:

  • Your requirements exceed the Business tier limits
  • You need custom SLAs or compliance guarantees
  • You require SSO or advanced security features
  • You want a dedicated account manager
  • You need custom minute allocations or unlimited concurrency

Upgrading and Downgrading

You can change plans at any time from Settings > Billing > Change Plan.

  • Upgrades take effect immediately. You are charged a prorated amount based on your actual usage in the current period, and the new plan limits become available right away.
  • Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. Your current plan limits remain active until then. A banner on the billing page shows your scheduled change and the date it takes effect.

Prorated billing on upgrades

When you upgrade mid-cycle, CallMeter calculates proration based on your actual consumed minutes -- not calendar days. This means you receive fair credit for the unused portion of your current allocation.

For step-by-step instructions on changing plans, see Managing Your Subscription.

Stream Counting

CallMeter bills audio and video minutes separately, and each stream direction counts independently. Understanding stream counting helps you estimate costs accurately.

  • Each endpoint in a test produces a send stream and a receive stream
  • A standard two-party audio test generates 4 audio streams (2 per endpoint)
  • Adding video to that test adds 4 video streams on top of the audio streams
  • Stream minutes accumulate across all endpoints in all test runs during your billing period

Quick Estimation Examples

Test ConfigurationDurationAudio MinutesVideo Minutes
2 endpoints, audio only10 min400
2 endpoints, audio + video10 min4040
10 endpoints, audio only5 min1000
50 endpoints, audio only5 min5000
20 endpoints, audio + video3 min120120

Pre-test usage estimates

Before running a test, CallMeter shows an estimated usage breakdown based on your test configuration. This includes a warning if the test would push you into overage territory.

For detailed information on how usage is calculated and billed beyond your plan limits, see Credits and Overages.

Unused Minutes

Audio and video minute allocations reset at the start of each billing period (monthly or annual). Unused minutes do not roll over to the next period.

If you consistently have large amounts of unused minutes, you may be on a higher plan than you need. If you consistently exceed your allocation, consider upgrading to avoid overage charges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I change plans mid-cycle? Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing based on actual usage. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

What happens when my trial ends? If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged. If you do not cancel, billing begins automatically.

Do unused minutes roll over? No. Audio and video minute allocations reset at the start of each billing period.

Can I have multiple subscriptions? Each organization has one subscription. If you need separate billing for different teams, create separate organizations.

Is there a setup fee? No. All plans start with no setup or activation fees.

Can I try a plan before committing? Yes. Every paid plan includes a 7-day trial with full access to all features. You can cancel before the trial ends at no charge.

What codecs are supported? All paid plans support the full codec suite: PCMA, PCMU, G.722, and Opus for audio; H.264, VP8, and VP9 for video.

What are concurrent stream limits? These limit how many simultaneous audio or video streams your organization can run at the same time across all tests. They do not limit how many tests you can run sequentially.
